“Sometimes it Takes a Long Time for God to do Something Suddenly”

I’ve had two full circles come into view this week and they are causing me to remember the faithfulness of God, once again. Within this circle I found as Mary DeMuth often says, “Sometimes it takes a long time for God to do something suddenly.”  This is how it played out in my life just the past week.

The first is the wedding of author/writer friend, Judy Gordon Morrow. This sister in the Lord was intimately involved in the time of my own “suddenly” when God quickly plucked me out of San Antonio and whisked me back to Washington, into the arms of my waiting Prince Charming.

During the time Judy and I were preparing for my first Always Faithful Radio show for the 2014 calendar year where I would interview her about her devotional book, “The Listening Heart: Hearing God in Prayer,” I was ministered to by this sister’s faith and heart for God. Judy shared her own experience with feeling God was telling her to wait and how He’d given her very specific instructions in the waiting process for her own Prince.

To hear the story this week of how “suddenly” God brought that 20+ year promise to pass was breathtaking. And such a reminder of how faithful our God is. Watching the wedding ceremony via livestream had me weeping tears of joy for the goodness of God in providing her exactly what He had promised her. ❤️

At the same time, as I’m writing this I’m preparing to head out this weekend to attend a conference in Myrtle Beach, SC. In 2018 Redemption Press was a major sponsor of the Women of Joy Tour with one of the stops being Myrtle Beach … and Cynthia Cavanaugh reminded me that we’ll be staying in the same hotel we stayed in during the tour.

When I reflect back on that time for me and for Redemption Press as a company, it takes my breath away that we even survived that year. We highlighted a handful of authors on that tour and not everything worked out the way it was supposed to. Some venues had lower attendance than we were told to expect, other expectations were not met, so disappointments ran high for some. Including me!

In all honestly it took us a good two years to recover from that drain on resources and some of the fallout I experienced after the tour ended. So now, to be returning to that same venue, all these years later, seeing how faithful God has been to refine and sanctify my leadership and for Him to continue to lead and guide the team at Redemption Press as well as our author family … well, this too takes my breath away.

Full circles always make me weepy … happy tears really … as I ponder and reflect on how God really does work ALL THINGS together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purposes (Romans 8:28) … SO THAT (verse 29) we will be conformed to the image of His Son.

WOW. He is, as I like to remind myself and others, ALWAYS FAITHFUL!

Have you experienced any full circles lately? I’d love to hear how He worked in that way!

Thanks for spending some time with me today!
Athena
